LIBRARY CARDS
Any permanent adult resident
of the state of Alaska who presents an Alaska Driver's License,
Alaska Identification Card, or other acceptable form of identification
showing permanent mailing address is eligible to apply for a
free Library borrower's card.
A minor under the age of eighteen must have his or her application
signed by a parent or legal guardian willing to assume the responsibility
for the minor for misuse or abuse of the privileges of library
usage.
At the time of application, the borrower will be permitted to check
out two items. After the card has been received through the
mail, the new borrower's limit is increased if all materials
previously loaned have been returned and no fines, charges
or penalties are noted on their library records.
Visitors or Alaska temporary residents may apply for a Library
card after presenting adequate picture identification showing
permanent out-of-state address and a valid local mailing address.
After receiving the library card in the mail a non-resident
is permitted to check out four items each library visit if
the previously loaned items have been returned and no fines
are noted on library records.
