LIBRARY CARDS
Any permanent adult resident
of the state of Alaska who presents an Alaska Driver's License,
Alaska Identification Card, or other acceptable form of identification
showing permanent mailing address is eligible to apply for a
free Library borrower's card.
A minor under the age of eighteen must have his or her application
signed by a parent or legal guardian willing to assume the responsibility
for the minor for misuse or abuse of the privileges of library
usage.
Upon presentation of two pieces of
cancelled mail, within the last six months, addressed to the
applicant at the address on their library application, the new
card will be given to the applicant. Any applicant who cannot
produce the mail, will receive a card via mail and is not
eligible to check anything out until they return to the library
with their new card.
Visitors or Alaska temporary residents may apply for a Library
card after presenting adequate picture identification showing
permanent out-of-state address and a valid local mailing address.
After receiving the library card a non-resident
is permitted to check out four items each library visit if
the previously loaned items have been returned and no fines
are noted on library records.
